The 2020 nuclear attack on Bikini Bottom is an event that occurs in Election Night in the Shallow Seas: Battle for the Soul of the Nation. In the assassination of Donald Trump orchestrated by Mr. Pence and Mr. Pepperchicken, the entire White House gets destroyed. As a result, a civil war soon breaks out. The chaos created by this is subsequently exploited by Mr. Pineapple, who searches through the rubble of the White House and manages to find the nuclear button, launching an attack on Bikini Bottom from within.
The attack resulted in the death of the entire Bikini Bottom population, however most were revived due to Mr. Fancyson bribing Mr. Devil. A select few, such as Mr. Pineapple, the perpetrator the attack, along with Mr. R'Onion and Mr. Sanders, however, were left dead. This created a vacancy in the Bikini Bottom, with a special election being called to replace Mr. Sanders.
