"Kneel before the Zi Jing-Mao!" ― The Amethystmen
The Amethystmen are supporting antagonists in the SpongeBob & Sagwa series, first appearing in SpongeBob & Sagwa 2 and its TV episode adaptation. They are an organization of malicious gemstone spirits who are lifelong rivals of the Jade Bats and are commanded by Starfury the Amethyst Cat (Xing-Yu Zi Jing-Mao). They assume the form of Chinese military soldiers from the Song dynasty, and are made entirely out of corrupted amethyst.
The majority of Amethystmen soldiers are voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, who also provided the voices of Squilliam Fancyson and Bubble Bass in the original SpongeBob SquarePants show.
Types of Soldiers[]
Qiang Dragoons[]
The Qiang Dragoons are the most common types of weapon-based soldiers in the army. They wield qiangs (Chinese spears) that have amethyst crystals for blades. The qiangs are mostly used for weapon-based combat, but can also shoot purple beams of lightning on command.
Dao Wielders[]
Dao Wielders are another common type of weapon-based soldier. Their weapon of choice is a Chinese sword known as the dao.
Martials[]
The Martials, as their names suggest, are expertise at martial arts. They prefer to battle using kung fu tactics rather than military weapons.
