Benson Cross is the leader of a morally ambiguous group known as the BEI dedicated to researching extraterrestrial life underwater. A villain who is occasionally an anti-hero or rival, his organization defends Bikini Bottom from aliens by whatever means necessary even if it crossing boundaries and doing rather morally gray actions to stop aliens. Although his organization is there to protect Bikini Bottom, he often puts his own interests above others.

He appears to be a blue version of a background character from the canon episode "Grooming Gary". He made his first normal episode appearance in "Benson's Revenge", a Season 270 episode.

The Jelliens[]

The Jelliens, as introduced in Planet of the Jellyfish, pose a significant threat to the Bureau of Extraterrestrial Investigation (BEI) due to their ability to clone and replace individuals with nearly perfect copies. These alien jellyfish, serving the Jellien Overlord, can transform sea creatures into obedient Jellien clones, making it difficult to distinguish friend from foe. The new mayonnaise versions must be potent enough to not only neutralize the invasive influence of Species X mutations but also provide a defense against the Jelliens' cloning and infiltration abilities. Without such advancements, the BEI risks losing ground against these evolving threats, leaving Earth's inhabitants vulnerable to complete takeover.

Goofy Goobers[]

The Bureau of Extraterrestrial Investigation (BEI) had been tracking unusual activity in Bikini Bottom for some time, but recent reports surrounding Goofy Goober's Ice Cream Party Boat had raised alarms. The BEI had received disturbing intelligence suggesting that Goofy Goober's was operating more like a cult, recruiting vulnerable citizens into its ranks under the guise of fun, but with an underlying focus on strange rituals and alien worship. What truly concerned the BEI was the rumors of a so-called "departure event," an eerie parallel to the notorious Heaven's Gate cult. Species X[]

Species X is a significant threat in the future timeline of Bikini Bottom, first introduced at the end of the episode "SpongeHenge." Created by The Old Gods, The Outer Gods, The Great Old Ones, and originally resided in the depths of space until landing on Earth sometime in the ancient past. They plan on awakening and attempt bring their main embassy from a far away aquatic planet three thousand years in the future with a sinister agenda: to overthrow both Neptune and Poseidon. Their interest in the area is not merely for observation but is intricately tied to their plot for dominance. As part of their strategy, they have covertly infused their DNA into various species of jellyfish, effectively creating hidden agents that will assist in their plans to manipulate and control the underwater ecosystem. Physically, Species X are characterized by their light purple, wrinkly, tear-shaped bodies, with an extra eye on their foreheads that distinguishes them from the other two. They possess four short legs, jellyfish-like tentacles, and utilize rocket-powered space pods for travel, showcasing their advanced technological capabilities. They carry cameras inside their mouths, documenting their surroundings as they execute their covert operations.

With monotone, genderless voices, Species X creates an eerie and unsettling presence as they move closer to their ultimate goal of dominating the realm of the sea by harnessing the power of the jellyfish under their control. They possess a collective awareness and communicate through telepathy, and can evolve as nature sees fit, meaning all members of their species share a single consciousness, which the BEI has detected to be the result of a Dyson Sphere within a far out galaxy. Their arrival in the future timeline of Bikini Bottom carries with it the ominous fulfillment of a prophecy tied to Loudward's prediction of the Heat Death of the Universe on August 12, 2036. Loudward's vision, once thought to be the ramblings of a disgruntled artist, is now viewed as the "Day of 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂," a catastrophic event where cosmic forces collide, bringing forth not only the end of the universe but also the rise of new 𝓯𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 threats. The Infestians are a terrifying, zombie-like species born from a parasitic organism originating from deep space. When this parasite infects a host—whether human, fish, or alien—it seizes control of their body and mind, converting them into a near-mindless drone with one goal: to propagate the parasite. Infected hosts, or Infestians, exhibit heightened aggression and unwavering obedience to the parasite’s hive mind, becoming relentless in their efforts to spread the infection. Each new host intensifies the threat, as the parasite adapts quickly, developing resistance to conventional containment and extermination methods.

Upon discovering the presence of Infestians in Bikini Bottom, the Bureau of Extraterrestrial Investigation (BEI) declared them an urgent, top-level threat. Originally desiring a source for electricity to contain aliens, B.O.O.T.S. later revealed to have been scheming and lying to the organization's leader. However, their true intentions were revealed to be far more sinister ever since they had tried to steal Bikini Bottom. Under the leadership of Sue Nahmee, a fervent mechanical cultist and overlord with a hidden agenda to resurrect a dark, intelligent, and malevolent alien mastermind—an imposing figure characterized by his rotund physique, wild mustache, a love for machines, and penchant for diabolical schemes—B.O.O.T.S. shifted from ally to adversary. Sue's obsession with this ancient being is fueled by her belief that reviving him would grant her unparalleled power and influence over the underwater realm, positioning B.O.O.T.S. as a dangerous player in the ongoing battle for Bikini Bottom's fate.

They discreetly scanned her gear, analyzed her movements, and intercepted local chatter about the “strange land creature.” To the BEI, Sandy’s advanced technology and her unfamiliar origins raised red flags, leading them to suspect she might be an undercover alien operative or bringing foreign tech that could disrupt their underwater society. After several hours of surveillance, the agents realized that Sandy was no threat at all. Her activities were innocent—just an enthusiastic scientist keen on studying marine life and adapting to her new environment. When he was first introduced to the Fanon, he was the main antagonist of Spongebob Fanon The Movie: The Greatest World Tour. He first appeared in the former movie as the main head of the BEI (Bureau of Extraterrestrial Investigation). His goal is to capture Vloria, an alien fairy with knowledge of aliens tied to plants, in order to extract her power and sell it to B.O.O.T.S. as electricity.
His character had changed throughout the fanon seasons, even integrating some lore from other SBFW users like Ozzie2009, specifically from his cinematic universe.
Cynthia Cross often tries to push Benson to gain more money and power often wanting to keep up with Howard Blandy's wealth and power as well as Roberto Poncho Eelinski and the Eelinskis. After Blandy had been exposed for pumping out uneditable garbage, Benson was able to surpass him in wealth landing him on the ocean billionaire list for the first time while Blandy's organization lost his spot while still being a part of the corporate system.
He had once thought about creating a surveillance network to spy on Bikini Botttom, but Mr. Krabs seen in Truth or Square had beat him before he was able to.
This character was orignially created by CommanderNemex. His backstory was only expanded on because his initial appearance was that of a one dimensional villain and the author of this page felt like that he and the BEI could be more fleshed out.
The BEI shares many traits with the SCP Foundation but more focused on aliens instead of anomalies.
Some employees of the BEI are dangerous criminals with records of murder, arson, satanist, and 𝓕𝓻𝓮𝓪𝓴𝔂 crimes with a bomb strapped inside their organs that were employed after getting released from jail in order to be offered a chance back into regular society. They wear orange jump suits as opposed to the standard BEI uniform. Mr. Craps is not one of these because he was able to bail himself out and choose the work for his own interests.
