In June 2003, just 2 months before the release of the 5th studio album. The band announced their move to South Africa and that the album was going to be shelved.

History[]

After the firing of Fred Durst, Patrick Star was rehired by the Infection and played the rest of the Infection 2002 Tour. Months past with no news from the band; and on February 2nd (just 2 days before the recording of the new studio album), SpongeBob announced that that they were working on a new studio album titled Disparate Realms II and that it would be release on August 9th, 2003. All of the 10 studio tracks were recorded and the songs were played at Rock Am Ring 2003. Months before the release, the band announced that they were going to be moving out of San Diego, California due to the increase of the rent of the band's house and the album was cancelled ASAP.

14 years after the cancellation, SpongeBob SquarePants said on Twitter just days after Sandy's tragic death. "Me, Sandy, Patrick & Yolandi did some new material that was supposed to be a double album to Disparate Realms back in 2004, so here it is. I found the tracks at Paramount Recording Studio according to the producer. He said that the tracks were found in the basement of old recordings of tracks." SpongeBob put a link on his Twitter page to download the unreleased double album on MEGA. The release date was intended to be around February 2004.

The studio tracks of the canceled studio album were later released in July 2017, on Myspace.
