Squidward Quentin Tentacles (born April 15, 1977) is the tritagonist of The Life of SpongeBob SquarePants. He is a cephalopod. He is a neighbor of the title character and Patrick Star. He despises both of them, seeing them as endlessly annoying and childish. Squidward works as the cashier and waiter (sharing the latter role with SpongeBob) at the Krusty Krab. Squidward despises his job and wishes that he can get out of the restaurant for good, but fears that doing so will deprive him of his income and reduce him to poverty.

He has worked at the Krusty Krab since 1997.
