Squidward receives a mysterious letter signed "Mr. McMysterious". Now, he must find out who sent him the letter.
Recap[]
It is Sunday. Squidward walks outside and picks up the mail, which contains a mysterious letter from "Mr. McMysterious", who Squidward assumed is a shifty character in Bikini Bottom. The letter reads:
Hello, Mr. Tentacles. You are invited to the home of Mr. McMysterious. Be there at 3:00 PM on Sunday. - Mr. McMysterious
Squidward knows he wants to visit Mr. McMysterious, but does not know where his house is. He checks the phone book for this person, but he is not included in it! Squidward asks everyone in Bikini Bottom if they know of a Mr. McMysterious, but they all say no. Squidward sings A Mysterious Letter.
It is 2:59. Squidward realizes that he will never find McMysterious. SpongeBob then appears and tells him that his nickname at Boating School is Mr. McMysterious because he was the detective in a game he and his friends at school were playing.
Squidward realizes it is almost 3 and runs to SpongeBob's house, or Mr. McMysterious' house. Squidward then realizes he does not like SpongeBob and walks back to his home. He sighs a sigh of relief. Out the door, a fish wearing a black coat covering his face puts a letter on Squidward's doorstep-signed "Mr. McMysterious".
